Dom Perignon Champagne Brut Cuvee 2003

This will be our first review on wine.  Something exceptional, something perhaps to remember, and something attractive is perhaps should be mentioned for the start here.

Date of Tasting: 15 February 2013
Wine Type: Sparkling White
Grape Varieties: ~ 60% Chardonnay, ~ 40% Pinot Noir
Alcohol: 12.5%
Origin: Epernay, France
Appellation: Champagne
Expect to Pay: THB5,000 – 8,000 (retail price in Thailand)
Web: http://www.domperignon.com
Chubby Score: 96/100
Value for money: 9/10
Professional Rating: WA - 94/100, WS - 94/100, JR - 18.5/20.0 CT - 92/100

Appearance: pale golden yellow
Aroma: bouquet of flowers, citrus, smoky and nutty
Palate: striking and vibrant personality, silky rich texture with fine effervescence, well balanced, there is savoury edge of sweetness in the background too. Love it even more than 2002.  Purely elegant indeed.

This is a Champagne that I truly enjoy.  At this young age, it shows pretty nicely and already delicious.  Dom Perignon 2003 is not the big and bold style but presents it own character. Wondering how well and how far it will go.  A blockbuster it will be.
