Palate: Rich medium-full structure. Fine acidity. Refreshing. Sweet ripe tropical fruits. Long and lingering

It was sweeter and denser than vintage 2011 I had in the previous year. So fine, so juicy, and so charming. Mineral did play the main role here but acidity and balance sweetness. It went pretty nicely with spicy and rich food such as Chinese and Thai for me. Superb now and should be nice to see how it develops.

Aroma: fine nose of apple and tropical fruit

Palate: fresh dazzling acidity and minerality with ripe lime and citrus, not overwhelming with good degree of mousse. medium finish.

Think of Raumland Riesling Brut as a fine substitution of those expensive champagne (though not cheap). It may not be as fine and elegant as champagne but should serve well enough. I like the character that does not show toasty nutty/almond nose like prosecco. It is an impressive one. Delicious with fresh seafood like sushi. Give it a try if you see one.

Appearance: pale yellow

Aroma: perfume of white flower, apricot/peach, and honey

Palate: semi-sweetness of honey, peach, and tropical fruits. medium on the body and yet creamy. complex, luscious as well as balance with elegant acidity and minerality. delicate, persistent, and fine touch. 

If anybody is to fall in love with this German spatlese by Schlossgut Diel would not be a surprise for me at all. The low level of alcohol combining with not overly sweetness and fine acidity make Schlossgut Diel Goldloch Riesling Spatlese 2011 so approachable but yet could be living a few decades to come. It is so delightful for good Summer days. This should go pretty incredible with food with spiciness such as Asian food, lightly creamy or fruity dessert, or even on its own. Store it up, I say.

I was attending a wine dinner event towards the end of November 2013. There were a number of riesling selections to be tasted. Two of them hit me right in the eye, especially the sweet one. Scholossgut Diel Nahesteiner Riesling Trocken 2011 was a fine bottle with reasonable price vs. quality. I would not mind at all to have this excellent bottle to go along a table dry white wine daily. I guess that this bottle may last for a few more years whilst it is excellent to drink now. However, the one I would like to draw attention is Schloss Diel Dorsheimer Pittermannchen Riesling Eiswein 2003. This is an enormous bottle of ice wine. It was so fine, so clean, thick but elegant, and so delicious. The thick juice but low in alcohol paired so well with dessert with berry base. I was so fortunate to have a go with this rare wine: wish I have a chance to stock some in my cellar. Well, if you come across this rare item somehow, do not miss your chance to grab some. Raise many more glass (I wish)!!!!!!

Palate: luscious yellow liquid, full body but low in alcohol, honey and apricot, citrus oil, fresh and vibrant, excellent acidity to cut the sweetness, well balance, persistent and exciting, go on and on
